YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
‘Personal information’ is used to mean any information or opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. In general terms, this includes information or an opinion that personally identifies you either directly (e.g. your name) or indirectly.
Trans Justice Project LTD. collects the information provided when someone signs up for updates, makes a donation, or takes action with us. Additionally, we gather information if someone engages with our social media platforms or interacts directly with us, such as through volunteering, or job applications.
USING AND DISCLOSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Preserving the trust placed in us is of utmost importance, and we handle personal information with care when using or disclosing it to others. We have internal policies and procedures regulating employee viewing, sharing and storage of data, and prioritise information security. At the completion of projects and actions, we delete data that we consider both confidential and no longer relevant, such as mailing addresses.
We use personal information to fulfil legal and regulatory obligations, or for internal purposes such as monitoring, analysing, and researching our organisational effectiveness and impact to improve our activities in the future.
To carry out our work, we may disclose personal information to our agents, suppliers, and advisors under strict confidentiality agreements. Some of these suppliers, including third-party service provider databases for personal information storage, may be located overseas, potentially resulting in personal information being stored in Australia or overseas.
In exceptional circumstances, we may use or disclose personal information when reasonably necessary and permitted by law, such as to mitigate or prevent serious threats to life, health, or safety or as part of legal proceedings.
