Everyone deserves to be protected from discrimination – no matter where we come from, what language we speak, who we love, or our gender.

But right now anti-equality politicians and lobby groups are trying to strip away vital protections for the trans and gender diverse community.

The Coalition has introduced a bill that would undermine our Sex Discrimination Act by narrowly defining the meaning of “sex”.
 If passed, this bill would have devastating impacts on the trans community, stripping away key legal protections, and cutting off our access to essential services and health care.

What they don’t want you to know is that they would also throw the whole Sex Discrimination Act into chaos – weakening the protections of a number of other groups, including women and LGBTSBQIA+ communities.
We can’t let this happen.

Our human rights are deeply connected – when you attack the rights of one group, you put the rights of everyone else at risk.


Last time the Liberals, Nationals and One Nation introduced anti-trans bills attacking the Sex Discrimination Act, we beat them with massive community pressure. And we can do it again.

We need as many people as possible writing to, calling, and meeting with their local Members of Parliament to make sure this bill goes straight in the bin where it belongs.

Write to your MP to demand they take a stand for trans justice, and commit to protect the Sex Discrimination Act.
