Mobilise for Equality
In just a few weeks, the NSW Equality Bill will go up for debate.
The Equality Bill is an opportunity to improve the lives of the entire LGBTSBIQA+ community. However, these life-changing reforms are under threat. Anti-equality lobbyists are working hard to gut the Bill, arguing for harmful amendments that would leave our community unprotected and disadvantaged.
Our MP’s urgently need to hear from community members about why the Equality Bill matter to us, our friends, and our families. That’s why we are taking action.
Take action below and together we will push the NSW Government to commit to making NSW the Equality state.
Take Action
1. Join the Equality Phone Jam
Help us make sure that from the 29th-2nd of August the NSW Premier receives a call every ten minutes urging him to support the Equality Bill. Use our tool to book in a phone call and be a part of the Equality Phone Jam. We will provide everything you need to take part, including talking points and a reminder text on the day.
2. Write a letter
Help flood the key decision makers with letters. Get creative by including a drawing that your kids made, photos of your family, or other things that will help show just how much these reforms will change the lives of you and your community. Write and send your letter as soon as possible to make sure that it gets delivered in time.

Host a letter writing party
Help activate your co-workers, friends, or family by hosting a short letter-writing party. Allow roughly 20 minutes. Set a time and date, get some blank paper and pens, and you are good to go. Collect up all the letters at the end so you can make sure they are sent off.

3. Meet with your MP
Find who your local State MP is and email their office to ask for a meeting to discuss the Equality Bill. We know that anti-equality groups have been meeting with a number of MPs, so it’s vital that they hear from our community too.
MP’s are more inclined to meet with you if you are one of their local constituents and/or are connected to a community institution (e.g. a business, place of worship, club, or community group) so be sure to mention this in your email.
